According to the 2020 ACS 5-year estimates, Gallatin County had a total of 3,935 housing units5. Of the housing units, 57.8% were single unit detached structures, 12.7% were multi-unit structures, 29% were mobile homes and .4% are boats/rv/van5

The largest age groups of occupied homes were those built between 2000 and 2009 representing 25.6% of all occupied housing5. Since 2010, Gallatin County has seen very little in the way of housing development.

Gallatin County has higher percentage of homes built after the 80’s compared to the Kentucky average5.

Generally older homes can be at higher risk for health hazards such as lead, asbestos, and radon as well as mold and mildew which can have negative effects on health.
