According to the 2020 ACS 5-year estimates, 8.8% of persons over the age of 65 are living in poverty compared to 24.4% of children under the age of 18 in Gallatin County13,14. Female headed families with no husband present are 3 times more likely to experience poverty than male-headed families with no wife present13.
