Another 26.8% of homes in Gallatin County are occupied by renters from both commercial and private owners which is slightly lower than state and national rates5.
Vacant housing has a direct impact on the physical surroundings in a neighborhood. Research has shown that vacant lots/housing that have been remediated had positive effects on health, including lowering heart rate and reducing violence.
