SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS

Pendleton County has maintained a significantly lower rate of sexually transmitted infections compared to the state overall with the incidence of Chlamydia remaining below the state rate consistently with an eight-year trend of 231.7 as compared to the state average at 376.1 per 100k persons25. Likewise, Gonorrhea incidence also remains significantly lower than the state rate averaging 42.2 cases per 100k25.

Approximately 40.4% of Kentucky high school students have had at least one sexual encounter26. Of those, 7.2% had sexual intercourse with four or more persons and 30.7% are currently sexually active26.
