According to the 2020 ACS 5-year estimates, 16.3% of persons over the age of 65 are living in poverty compared to 17.4% of children under the age of 18 in Owen County13,14. Female headed families with no husband present are 3 times more likely to experience poverty than male-headed families with no wife present13.
